The DINGXIN YBM 29 High Voltage / Low Voltage Prefabricated Substation — also known as the European Box-Type Transformer Substation — is a factory-assembled, factory-tested power distribution substation that combines the HV switchgear, the power transformer and the LV switchgear into a single compact, transportable enclosure.
Compared with conventional brick-built substations, the YBM 29 delivers a smaller footprint, faster on-site installation, higher reliability and a cleaner modern appearance. It is purpose-built for outdoor deployment in urban public distribution, residential areas, high-rise buildings, industrial parks, mining sites, ports, oilfields, stations, airports, subways and highways.
The YBM 29 is divided into three physically separated compartments, each engineered for its own function and safety zone:

Q1. What is a European box-type prefabricated substation? A European box-type prefabricated substation (also called a package substation) integrates the high-voltage switchgear, transformer and low-voltage switchgear into a single factory-built enclosure. DINGXIN's YBM 29 model combines all three into three independent compartments for fast on-site installation, smaller footprint and safer operation.
Q2. What capacity range does the YBM 29 cover? The YBM 29 covers 50–250 kVA, 315–630 kVA and 800–1600 kVA tiers, with both MU and PIN layout options.
Q3. What transformer types can be installed inside? The YBM 29 transformer room accepts both dry-type and oil-immersed transformers. Oil-immersed units can be fitted with an oil conservator or supplied as fully sealed (no conservator) versions.
Q4. What HV switchgear options are available? A ring main unit (RMU) is fitted as standard, supporting either air or vacuum load switches per user requirement. The HV compartment includes a five-prevention interlock system and automatic phase-loss tripping when current-limiting fuses operate.
Q5. What is the difference between MU and PIN layouts? MU and PIN are two structural arrangements of the three compartments (HV, transformer, LV). Both are available in termination or looped-network configurations, with or without an internal operating corridor, to fit different site footprints and maintenance strategies.
Q6. How is the substation cooled? Natural ventilation is standard. An optional automatic forced air-cooling system adjusts fan speed based on internal temperature, and an anti-condensation heater can be added on request.
Q7. What are the typical dimensions? Overall dimensions (W × L × H in mm) range from approximately 2800 × 1800 × 2560 (50–250 kVA, termination, no corridor) up to 4400 × 2580 × 2560 (800–1600 kVA, with corridor). Detailed dimensions are listed in the technical specifications table.
Q8. Where is the YBM 29 typically used? Urban public power distribution, high-rise buildings, residential communities, industrial and mining enterprises, ports, oilfields, parks, stations, airports, subways and highways — wherever a compact, factory-built, ready-to-connect outdoor substation is needed.
