Dingxin 35kV Sealed Amorphous Alloy Power Transformer for Uzbekistan

Explore Dingxin’s 35kV sealed amorphous alloy power transformer solution for Uzbekistan, featuring low core loss, high efficiency, reliable sealing, compact construction, and reduced lifecycle costs.

Dingxin supplied a 35kV sealed amorphous alloy power transformer solution for a power project in Uzbekistan. Developed to improve distribution efficiency and operational reliability, the transformer combines an energy-saving amorphous alloy core with a fully oil-filled, hermetically sealed structure.

The solution is designed to minimize no-load losses, reduce maintenance requirements, and provide dependable performance throughout its service life.

Project Requirements

The project required a distribution transformer capable of delivering stable performance under local grid and environmental conditions. The principal requirements included:

Amorphous Alloy Core Technology

The transformer core is manufactured from an advanced amorphous alloy, a soft magnetic material primarily composed of elements such as iron, nickel, cobalt, silicon, boron, and carbon.

Unlike conventional crystalline silicon steel, amorphous alloy has a disordered atomic structure. This structure provides favorable magnetic characteristics, including low magnetization power and reduced energy loss during repeated magnetization cycles.

The amorphous alloy strip is approximately 0.027mm thick. Its high electrical resistivity—typically three to six times that of conventional silicon steel—helps suppress eddy currents and significantly reduce core losses.

These properties make amorphous alloy transformers particularly suitable for distribution networks where transformers remain energized continuously and no-load energy consumption represents an important part of total operating costs.

Specialized Structural Design

Amorphous alloy materials are harder and more sensitive to mechanical stress than conventional silicon steel. Excessive pressure or deformation during manufacturing can adversely affect the core’s magnetic performance.

Dingxin therefore applies specialized core-processing, assembly, clamping, and active-part installation procedures. The core-supporting structure is carefully designed to minimize mechanical stress while maintaining adequate strength during transportation and operation.

The transformer’s windings, insulation system, leads, tank, and cooling arrangement are also optimized through electrical, thermal, and mechanical calculations to ensure coordinated performance.

Fully Sealed Oil-Filled Construction

The transformer uses a fully oil-filled, hermetically sealed tank. This design isolates the transformer oil from the external atmosphere, helping prevent moisture and oxygen from entering the insulation system.

The sealed structure provides several advantages:

Volume changes in the insulating oil caused by temperature variations are accommodated by the specially designed tank structure.

Technical Configuration

Dingxin’s sealed amorphous alloy transformer platform can be configured according to project-specific capacity, voltage ratio, tapping range, vector group, impedance, insulation level, and applicable standards.

The referenced product series covers rated capacities from 30kVA to 2,500kVA. Available configurations include:

For the Uzbekistan project, the final 35kV configuration was determined according to the required grid parameters and technical specifications.

Manufacturing and Quality Assurance

During production, Dingxin carefully controls amorphous strip handling, core assembly, winding manufacture, insulation treatment, active-part drying, vacuum oil filling, sealing, and final assembly.

The completed transformer undergoes comprehensive factory inspection and testing. Tests may include:

These procedures verify that the transformer meets the required electrical, mechanical, insulation, and sealing performance criteria before delivery.

The sealed amorphous alloy transformer provides an energy-efficient and reliable solution for the Uzbekistan power project. Its low-loss core helps reduce electricity consumption during continuous operation, while the hermetically sealed oil system protects the internal insulation and minimizes maintenance needs.
